The five main types of bottle caps are screw (the workhorse), flip-top (opens with one hand), disc-top (press one side to open), dosing (the cap is the measuring cup) and child-resistant (push and turn). Each comes in its own set of neck sizes, so the neck on your bottle narrows the choice before anything else.
| Cap | In one line | Neck sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Screw cap | Plain or with a tamper-evident band. The workhorse closure. | 18/410, 20/410, 24/410, 28/410, 28/400, 33/400, 38/400 |
| Flip-top cap | Hinged cap that opens with one hand. The standard for shampoo, shower gel and lotion. | 18/410, 20/410, 24/410, 28/410 |
| Disc-top cap | Press one side, the other side lifts. Opens with one wet hand, no unscrewing. | 24/410, 28/410 |
| Dosing cap | A cap that is also a measuring cup. For detergent and fabric softener. | 28/400, 33/400, 38/400 |
| Child-resistant closure | For household chemicals and essential oils — hard for a small child to open. | 18/415, 24/410, 28/400, 33/400, 38/400 |

The workhorse closure, with the most necks of the five: 18/410, 20/410, 24/410, 28/410, 28/400, 33/400 and 38/400. Ribbed or smooth, plain or with a tamper-evident band, and with the liner your product needs. Ask about this one →

Both open with one hand. On a flip-top you lift a hinged lid; on a disc-top you press one side of the disc down and the other side rises.
They solve two different problems. A child-resistant closure needs two actions at once to open. A tamper-evident band shows that the bottle has been opened before. The two are often specified together.

Five: screw caps, flip-top caps, disc-top caps, dosing caps and child-resistant closures. Screw caps are the workhorse, flip-tops open with one hand, disc-tops open when you press one side, a dosing cap doubles as a measuring cup, and a child-resistant closure opens only when you press down and turn at once.
How you open it. On a flip-top you lift a hinged lid; on a disc-top you press one side of the disc down and the other side rises. Both open with one hand. Which one suits your product depends on how thick it is and how the bottle is held; tell us the product and we’ll recommend one.
No. A child-resistant closure needs two actions at once to open: press down and turn at the same time, which small children find hard to combine. A tamper-evident band shows that the bottle has been opened before; we put that band on our screw caps. The two are often specified together.
Check our neck finish chart, or send a photo of your bottle neck and we’ll identify it. Flip-tops come in 18/410, 20/410, 24/410 and 28/410; disc-tops in 24/410 and 28/410; dosing caps in 28/400, 33/400 and 38/400; child-resistant closures in 18/415, 24/410, 28/400, 33/400 and 38/400.
Yes — pad printing, silk screen or hot stamping, on a gloss, matte or metallized finish. For color, send us a color reference and your artwork, and we’ll come back with a sample. The minimum order is 10,000 pcs, and the lead time is 7–25 days on an existing mould or 30–60 days on a new one.
A photo of your current bottle or pump is enough. You do not need to know the reference numbers.
